This vocational open online course is designed to help mentors in Dual VET programs effectively support apprentices by leveraging peer networks and communities of practice. It is composed of four lessons that explore the role of peer networks in professional development, the theoretical foundation and historical evolution of communities of practice, strategies for forming and sustaining CoPs, and a case study on the Open-Source Software community. Mentors will learn how to guide apprentices in building collaborative environments, foster continuous learning, and implement successful CoPs to enhance career development. By the end of the course, mentors will be equipped to create supportive, engaging, and growth-oriented learning communities.
